Anna writes,
“Over 20 years of working at Falmouth Art gallery, Natalie Rigby has curated a fantastic back catalogue of inspirational exhibitions, made a significant contribution to the family friendly movement in museums and galleries and is deserving of local and national acclaim for her innovative partnership work.
Two recent exciting exhibitions are Thanks for the Apples, in 2022 which provided visitors to the gallery with a unique opportunity to experience new work by acclaimed contemporary artists alongside historic hidden treasures from the Cornish museum collections; and in 2023, the hugely successful, Legend of King Arthur – A Pre-Raphaelite Love Story which brought the Lady of Shalott and other significant Pre Raphaelite artworks together for the first time.
Natalie is extraordinarily talented and ambitious in her vision.
She has a knack for bringing together objects and concepts in a fresh way, placing the viewer, and not herself, at the centre of the curation process. And this is the key: she creates something for us to revel in.
This approach to her professional work alongside her hard-fought battle with cancer in recent years, her stoic refusal to give up are all inspirational.
Natalie has worked and studied in Falmouth, and across Cornwall.
This is her home where she has raised her family and the profile of art and culture as a municipal provision for the community she is part of. She is an extraordinary friend, mother and creative force for good and positive change.”
