Draw along to music, with brain stimulating warm-up exercises to help you loosen up or discover/rediscover your personal approach to drawing.

These relaxed life drawing sessions are ideal for getting out of a creative rut and into a state of flow. These friendly, semi-guided classes are designed to feed into your creative practice, whatever your drawing ability.

The classes are body-inclusive; working with a diverse pool of life models each week. The model will typically be nude.

PRICES:
Full Price: £18 (10% off 3)
Locals: £15 (TR10 postcode)
Students: £10 (two slots p/session)

DAY: Wednesdays
TIME: 7 - 9pm
LOCATION: The Art Room
SESSIONS: Weekly
LEVEL: All levels (semi-guided)

16-18 year old’s welcome if they are accompanied by an adult (parent/carer). The parent/carer will be required to book onto the class and give consent. Please email us at info@artcentrepenryn.org before booking.

No under 16s.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT:

• Bring your own materials, or buy from us at low cost

• Suggested materials: charcoal, pastel, pencils, pens, ink

• Suggested paper: A3+ recycled paper & newsprint

• A1 and A2 drawing boards and clips with 10 easels (offered on a first come, first served basis, or people could swap during the session). Alternatively, the drawing boards can be comfortably used sitting down and resting on trestles.

Please note:

The room temperature will be adjusted using infra-red and fan heaters for the model’s comfort during the session. Please dress appropriately for sessions as the space may get hot and ensure to bring water to drink.

Art Centre Penryn and Life Drawing Lab provide safe and inclusive spaces in which to work and be creative. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any disrespectful or offensive behaviour. The code of conduct displayed at the art room must be followed.

About Life Drawing Lab

Life Drawing Lab is run by Peach Doble; an Artist and Facilitator based in Cornwall. She specialises in drawing from performance, exploring movement and gesture in her work and in her taught sessions.

Previous performer-collaborations have included Pole Dancers, Hula Hoop Artists and Cornish Wrestlers.

Peach has facilitated sessions for Falmouth University, Tate St Ives, CAST, Cornish Bank, Hall for Cornwall and more.

The course will take place in the Art Room which is located in the School Room building at Art Centre Penryn.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY

Art Centre Penryn is a small, non-profit organisation and our courses form a really important part of our income. Our courses are therefore non-refundable, but we offer the following options:

If it is more than 30 days from the course start date, we can offer a voucher worth the same amount for a future course. Within 30 days from the course start date, we cannot offer a voucher, but you could send someone else in your place, just email us to let us know.
