TELL ME MORE:

This 3-hour workshop is a great introduction to drawing directly from the nude model.

With encouraging, helpful guidance from your tutor Kate Broad, this workshop will increase your creative confidence and prepare you for future Life Drawing opportunities.

It is suitable for Beginners and those who want to refresh their skills in Life Drawing fundamentals.

This welcoming class is open to all.

We will cover:

  • How to use basic shapes and lines to draw the figure.

  • Building a relationship between what you see and what you draw.

  • An introduction to the use of gesture, structure and detail to understand proportion and composition.

  • How to interpret light, form and volume, bringing a three-dimensional quality to your drawing.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT:

Working from a live model, this workshop includes all paper and dry drawing materials (pencils, charcoal, chalk, pen). Participants are welcome to bring their own paper and materials if desired.

We have A1 and A2 drawing boards and clips with 10 easels for you to use standing or sitting. The drawing boards can also be comfortably used sitting down and resting on trestles.

Please note:

The room temperature will be adjusted using infra-red and fan heaters for the model’s comfort during the session. Please dress appropriately for sessions as the space may get hot.
