Edited from the KBSK website:
Adie Dove is artistic director of KBSK, founded in 2012 when she was 15 to bring dance to young people in Bodmin.
Adie witnessed the sacrifices her young single mum made to give her a better chance in life and she wanted to give back. After training as a dancer, she returned to Bodmin with her passion for the arts and a mission to make dance accessible to every child.
Bodmin is known for being one of the  most deprived areas in Cornwall with one of the highest crime rates. KBSK provide an open and accessible space, reach hundreds of young people a week and work with financially and socially deprived families, people struggling with mental health issues, and children with many complex additional needs including Autism, ADHD and those who are deaf and partially sighted. Adie uses the arts  to support young people to redirect their lives from crime, cycles of abuse and trauma and believes the power of the arts goes far beyond what the eye can see.
Adie Dove was a BBC Unsung Hero Southwest winner in 2020.

Val writes,
“I have watched this young lady in action at charity days, you can see how dedicated she is in helping all the young people.
Many have gained confidence and courage, some of whom would probably not have gained if it wasn’t for Adie’s patience and dedication. As a young mum, Adie has helped many young people to achieve their goals.
She has raised huge amounts of funds for a building where young people come together and delivers activities with different groups most days. Literally hundreds of young people attend, many join dance groups who dance at charity days. Adie is a inspiration to many young people and their families.
To see the joy she brings to them is wonderful. She has achieved so much and the adoration they all have for her shines through.
Adie deserves to be recognised.”
