Wadebridge Mayor and Town Councillor

Emma writes, “Amanda Pennington was instrumental in stopping the closure of our local leisure centre in Wadebridge, bringing attention to the community’s needs and interest in keeping it open. Her support, hard work and networking expertise has had a significant impact on raising the money to keep it going.
Leisure Centre aside, she has also raised funds for the Wadebridge skate park supporting young people in the area. She volunteers on numerous boards and supports local sports initiatives. She is a committed environmentalist.
When I arrived in Cornwall, Amanda helped me forge a new life here, generously introducing me to many of her contacts. She is an inspiration to female leaders and never one to back down when there is a cause she believes is important - no matter how much of an underdog cause it might seem.
Amanda has lived in Cornwall for many years and has raised three children here. She was recently Mayor of Wadebridge as well as a Town Councillor.
I think Amanda is a great woman for a piece of art with her vibrant orange hair, tall stature and gold tooth. She is no shrinking violet.”
