Jules writes, “After a lifetime at the heart of Cornwall’s news industry, Daphne is one of our strongest, kindly, generous, accomplished and well known characters. A true people person, she has a heart of gold, as well as a strong sense of responsibility towards effecting positive change. In her role as Assistant Editor for BBC Radio Cornwall, she fights every day to keep the people she represents well-informed and constantly involved with Cornwall’s holistic news agenda.

She’s an inspiration warrior for women everywhere, but particularly a go-to guru for women across the county. Divinely inspiring and wonderfully funny, Daphne spends everyday in the service of us all.

When I had a chance to realise my dreams, she let me stay in her home to make that happen before the opportunity was lost. I thought that made me special, but soon learned she’d do the same for anyone, and had for many people who had also found themselves in need. She’s a mother, daughter, sister, friend, but also a champion for the county’s arts and a true goddess when it comes to culture, inclusion and dynamics. So many cherish her presence because her service is something that brings great significance to those whose lives she touches every day.

Daphne has had a lifelong career based in and living in Cornwall. She’s an ambassador for the county and well known for her charity work from Launceston to Lands End.  She is a Deputy Lieutenant of Cornwall and Assistant Editor at BBC Radio Cornwall.
