Education Contemporary Crafts

Suggested by Angela Hatherall

Angela says, "Jane is an accomplished artist and educator working in both glass and ceramics. Like her heroine Barbara Hepworth, she takes her inspiration from the Cornish landscape, exploring the ideas of balance and harmony. She is passionate about sharing her skills, knowledge and experience, and her enthusiasm for her craft, and believes that creativity should be accessible to anyone, regardless of income, ability or experience. Jane founded the pottery at The Poly in Falmouth and the Create Contemporary Crafts Hub in Camborne with me in 2020, opening up a world of creativity to hundreds of people who may not otherwise have found it.

Over the past four years I have seen how generous Jane is with her time and extensive knowledge of contemporary crafts. She is an inspirational teacher to so many people, giving them the skills and confidence to explore their own creative journey. I'm proud to be associated with her.

Jane has lived in Cornwall for over twenty years. She brought her children up here and made her life here. Her contribution to Cornish creativity is immense, inspiring, giving skills to generations of Cornish creatives.
