Samantha says, “This amazing woman is 94 years young. She has worked at Redannick Care Home in Truro for the last 20 years after retiring in her 70’s. Her compassion and energy are contagious and she is truly inspirational. She honestly runs rings around some of the younger staff and the kindness she shows to the residents is unbound. She is an icon.

Joy is just an inspiration. I am currently the manager at Redannick and she has supported my development from a carer into management. She has lived and worked in Cornwall all her life.”

Cornwall Council recognised Joy’s work with a 2024 Proud to Care Lifetime Achievement Award.
