Suggested by Caroline Cox

Jude Munden is Chair and founder of Falmouth and Penryn Welcome Refugees and Founder of Pipeline Theatre.

Caroline says, "In 2018 Jude gathered like minded people and formed Welcome, a community sponsorship group which has welcomed 3 refugee families to Falmouth and Penryn. Jude's has formed Welcome as a community group with a wider than usual remit, supporting other refugees in the area, providing education for adults and extra curricular opportunities for children. I work with Jude at Welcome and her endless compassion for others, her imagination and vision are all inspirational.

Jude lives in Cornwall, studied fine art in Falmouth and taught art at Richard Lander School. With a love of performing arts, Jude has been in an all women female motorbike stunt group, produced costumes and sets for many theatre groups and set up her own Cornish company, Pipeline Theatre.

Jude works tirelessly to promote social justice, mostly on a voluntary basis.

Welcome has great support in Falmouth and Penryn and has become a nationally known and respected charity. Locally, it's been a great way for people to share concerns, educate themselves and feel they are doing something positive in a bleak and hostile environment for refugees. With over 50 volunteers Welcome has become an important community group, offering training and opportunities."
