“Karen Beswetherick is the most medalled female Cornish Gig rower.
She is just amazing. Rowed winning gold medals whilst raising her son on her own. Karen started rowing in her 20s and is still winning races as a veteran. I can’t remember how many gold, silver and bronze medals she has, but it’s definitely over 15. She is a kind and generous person with her time, highly motivated and very competitive! 

Her sheer determination and motivation is admirable.
She has inspired so many rowers across Cornwall and Devon over the last 20 years. Everyone connected to Cornish Pilot Gig rowing knows who she is and admires her. Born in Cornwall to a Cornish family, she has been a key part of Falmouth Gig Club for over 25 years.”
