“Katie Robinson is a professional footballer from Cornwall who plays for the England national team and Women’s Super League club Aston Villa. Robinson has played for Bristol City, Brighton & Hove Albion as well.

Katie was the youngest Lioness in England’s FIFA Women’s World Cup squad and made it to the final where they lost to Spain.

Women’s football has grown massively in Cornwall over the last decade, in particular since the success of the Lionesses. Having players at the top level coming from where you live is a huge inspiration for the next generation.

Katie grew up in Newquay and played for boys’ teams until she was 16. Her playing career started at Newquay AFC and then she trained at the Devon FA Girls’ Centre of Excellence at Ivybridge Community College.“
