Gemma writes,
“Laura has run Newquay Marine Group for many years, inspiring students from Cornwall College, Newquay, people from the local community and visitors to the region through her outstanding environmental volunteer work and citizen science.

Laura has lived in Cornwall for well over 20 years and runs Newquay Marine Group and Newquay Wild Activities. Working with Friends of Fistral Dunes, she is passionate about restoring and protecting the dunes for generations to come. She was a key member of Newquay Clean focusing on keeping Newquay litter free.

Laura has worked for Cornwall Wildlife Trust and is currently with Natural England as a senior advisor.

Laura lives and breathes to protect nature and inspire others to do so as well. When I moved to Cornwall she welcomed me into the Newquay Marine Group community and inspired me to get involved in protecting nature through Rockpool rambles and wildlife walks. She taught me what was important for Cornwall  and now I can pass that on too.

Laura is kind, funny and a great friend. She is authentic, passionate and community driven. She deserves recognition for all her work.”
