Sue writes,
“Louise Fox is Director of Mor Media Charity, the organisation that runs Cornwall Film Festival. Having started in this role 10 years ago she has built the charity to include not just the festival but a wide range of community focused events, workshops and screenings, opening doors to the creative world and transforming local communities by providing access to those who may not typically have it.
She believes arts participation changes lives and shapes bright futures. She also works with local charity Cornwall Climate Care to support their important message about environmental climate issues via documentary screenings.
Louise works tirelessly, leading a very small team, to produce the annual film festival programme for the people of Cornwall. She supports rising Cornish film makers through short film screenings and brings films and filmmakers to Cornwall so Cornish audiences can see the work of national and internationally acclaimed artists in their local cinemas.
She is a key part of a thriving film culture in Cornwall and the festival supports a wide range of audience engagement with it. As a teacher of film and media, I value the focus that Louise brings to film culture in Cornwall.
Louise has lived in Cornwall since 2000, has an MA from Falmouth University and established The Salt Gallery, an award-winning gallery in Hayle where she was a town councillor for four years before moving to Penryn.
She was also tennis coach for the whole Kerrier and is a passionate supporter of the local NHS having set up the ‘Save the NHS Cornwall’ group.”
