MARIE LOUISA HUTCHINSON-RALPH

Neurodivergent Health and Social Care

Suggested by Jenna Tyack

Jenna writes, "Marie is a mother of two disabled children. She has volunteered her time to advocate and help other families of disabled children access the support they need. As a member of one of those families, she has taught me everything she knows and I have been able to help others in return. Her support, guidance and patience have been invaluable in my family's life.

Marie is a founder of The Autistic Community of Cornwall, a not for profit charity that supports autistic adults, and Director of Youth Art Connect, a not-for-profit community group which gives all young people a chance to be creative and get support whatever their background.

Marie has spear headed an education programme for professionals, providing up to date knowledge on disabilities including Autism, ADHD and Tourette's, and campaigning for the use of Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) delivered through the NHS to support people with these conditions.

Families from all over Cornwall have benefited from her help and support even when she has her own disabilities and ill health to consider. Without Marie, my family, and a lot of other families would not have the support, knowledge and access to what we need to help our children. Our children are the next generation and she has given them a better future."
