Fred writes,
“Mary has been a lifelong resident of Cornwall and is highly regarded for her commitment to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Her dedication to raising funds and awareness was sparked by the late Jill Farrell, a co-founder of the organisation.
Mary worked relentlessly to support the charity and her efforts have made her a well loved and respected figure in her community where she is also involved with the WI and woodturning. Her community spirit has made a lasting impact on the people of Cornwall.
Mary’s passion for CHSW has inspired many others to get involved.
Her dedication has been instrumental in the creation of numerous Friends Groups across Cornwall, which serve as vital community hubs.
These groups organise a wide range of events, raising funds and awareness for the charity’s mission. Mary’s enthusiasm is truly infectious, and her unwavering support for CHSW has been a constant throughout her lifetime, motivating others to follow her example and make a difference in their communities.
Mary has lived in Falmouth for the last 41 years.”
Jenny says,
“Mary helped to raise millions for CHSW and has been an amazing support for many support groups, always putting herself before others. A friend to both myself and my husband for many years, she was recently told she has only a few months left to live. This has come as a terrible shock. Mary will missed terribly. I believe we should recognise what she has given to Cornwall over the years.”
Nikki says,
“Mary has been the leading force behind Falmouth Friends Group for CHSW. Over 25 years she has led a band of people to raise an amazing amount, helping children from all over the duchy. A leading light in fund raising for CHSW, she has inspired me and many others to help and donate our time, money and energy.”
