Lally says;
”Penny MacBeth is an artist, musician and writer based in Cornwall. She plays music including with the Redruth Town Band, and makes costumes for The WAD, an all female Morris group based in Falmouth.
Recently she worked on producing the Redruth Storycoat, making a coat from an original historical pattern, and hand sewing on individual patches made by members of the community. Penny is always the first to offer help with projects and the last to look for praise. 

Penny started life as a scientist and has worn many hats with style and versatility since. She has lived in Cornwall since 1996 when she moved here from Ireland.  

She inspires me because she is always active and always happy to help others realise their projects. If she can help, she will help and rarely looks for acclaim or fame - a rare quality these days!”
