Michaela writes,
“Sarah is one of the county’s grafters. She cleans holiday lets, a physically demanding, time pressured job. Sarah and countless women like her, keep the cogs of the tourist industry turning.
According to Cornwall Council, the tourism industry is worth £2 billion annually and the region receives 4 million over-night visits a year – that's an awful lot of beds to be made!
Cleaning may not be the most glamorous work but cleaners play a vital role in the economic fortunes of the county and their hard work deserves recognition.
So, Up the Cleaners!
Sarah represents all the women who perform important valuable work yet because of the everyday nature of that work, rarely receive praise and adulation.
She is a friend, has lived in Cornwall most of her life, and has raised her two children here.”
