Ellie says, “Sarah represented Cornwall on a global scale during her time performing in STOMP when the world-famous physical theatre group was at the height of its powers. She has since contributed more to the arts in Cornwall through her own successful painting practice, showcasing her native Cornwall through her dynamic and gestural work. She also strengthens its theatre scene as a Hall For Cornwall team member.
When I moved to Cornwall and set up my studio in the same building, Sarah was incredibly welcoming and warm - I could have been seen as competition in Cornwall’s saturated art market, but she was generous and inspiring from the start, taking me plein air painting at the coast - sharing the local beauty spots with a fellow landscape artist is no small thing - driving a van’s worth of solo show to and fro for me, and running our Cornwall Open Studios together. Her energy, accomplishments and passion for the arts inspire me, and she’s a joy to be around!”
