Arts, Crafts, Education and Learning

Claire writes,
“Tamsyn grew up in Saint Ives and upholds the tradition of pottery making in West Penwith and Cornwall. Influenced by the Cornish landscape, she never seeks accolades for her work but is devoted to her craft and creating work that is meaningful to her. She works hard and has dedicated her life to her art, producing beautiful pieces inspired by her environment. As a teacher she generously shares her knowledge with others in a gentle nurturing way.

I have known Tamsyn for over 25 years. She inspires me to connect with the great artwork in our county. I think many Cornish women would have wanted to be more creative but unfortunately due to the way that our economy works now we have to choose other professions in order to live. I admire her artistic integrity and devotion to her art. It has been unwavering since I’ve known her.  I believe she deserves recognition for her contribution to Cornish art alongside other great potters like Bernard Leach.”
