Tor writes, “Terrye was farming in West Cornwall when she started her computer business in one of her daughter’s bedrooms. She had the first personal computer in Cornwall! While running her business she stood for Kerrier Council, later becoming chair.
She also stood for Parliament 3 times championing issues around housing and sex education in Cornwall bringing both Shelter and Brook Advisory to the county. All this while employing 50 people in one of the UKs leading print companies. She was nominated for UK Businesswomen of the Year and was runner up.
Now retired she has completed her degree at Falmouth in Fine art and is doing a master's at Central St Martins. Terrye is my mum. She has helped her three daughters immeasurably - we all run our own businesses in Cornwall employing local people and promoting Cornwall at every opportunity.
Born in Bristol but from Cornwall since birth. Terrye grew up in Wendron, went to Helston School, farmed in Breage, stood for Parliament in Falmouth, Camborne, Redruth and Truro.
She was chair of Kerrier Council, ran two businesses, one in Helston and one in Launceston both of which are still running and employing people in those towns. She is now passionate about telling the stories of Cornish women through her art that has been displayed across Cornwall
