Arts, Education and Learning
Suggested by Olivia Beckwith
Olivia writes,
“Vicki is a textile artist who for the last 5 or 6 years has partnered with arts and heritage organisations across Cornwall developing socially engaged projects that celebrate inspirational women she has discovered in Cornish archives. Her projects create opportunities for participants to share in her discoveries in inclusive, enjoyable, and relaxed ways.
Vicki is generous, supportive, and kind, creating a warm atmosphere that makes participants in her workshops feel included and welcome. Always ready to share her learning with enthusiasm, she illuminates and engages people with hidden histories of women through a critically engaged textile practice. Her weekly stitch club at Krowji is free and open to all. Having completed an undergraduate degree and an MA Authorial Illustration as an adult returning to learning, she is now completing a PHD.
Vicki has been a great support to me in my own work as an emerging artist.”
